Senior Dating Profile Writing Tips

Oftentimes, seniors who are using an on-line dating site for the first time are nervous about creating their dating profile. These tips have been created with you in mind.

- Before writing your profile, take a few minutes to read the profiles of other seniors on the site. Make a list of the qualities that are appealing to you, then decide how you can make your profile.

- Don't stress over your profile. If you find yourself stressing over your profile, take a step back for a while. Walk away, think on it, then return to finish writing it. Once finished, read your profile aloud to a friend before posting the profile. Ask for honest feedback and make revisions accordingly.

- Make sure your profile reflects who you are. You know by now the types of food you like and your hobbies and interests. Don't lie on your profile in an effort to attract more suitors. After all, you want someone who is interested in you and can share common interests with you.

- Make your expectations known. Let readers of your profile know what you are expecting from a relationship. Senior dating is in some ways much easier than dating when you were younger. You are able to more accurately articulate your thoughts and feelings. Don't be vague. If you know exactly the type of person you'd like to meet, explain the qualities you are looking for.

- Have fun, but be cautious. Don't include any personal information in your profile such as your address or telephone number.

- Keep your profile short but interesting. You don't have to write a book when creating your profile. There is no need to ramble. Don't feel as if you have to "fill in space." Write about yourself, what you are looking for, and be engaging. Don't overdo your descriptions.

- Use a recent photo. Look for a shot of you that gives a good view of your face. Make sure your photo is up-to-date and that it is not blurry. It is also important that you smile in your photo. A smile makes you seem much more approachable. It can't be stressed enough how important it is that you use a recent photo of yourself.

-Create a user name that reflects who you are. This is the name you may be known by on the site, so make sure it is one that fits you and that you are comfortable using this name. Don't use the name "lovestodance" if you hate clubs and dancing. Think of your profile and your user name as an advertisement for yourself.

- Revise and proofread your profile before posting it online.

Senior dating can be fun and easy once you get your profile into place. The most important tip to remember is be yourself. Even if you don't meet your match, you may meet a life-long friend.
