If you’re planned on undertaking a Management Degree, there are a wide range of facilities and programmes available to you on a national and international basis. Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) has one of the most enviable reputations globally for the quality and range of it’s undergraduate programmes.

The programmes range from Accounting & Finance through to Project Management, Marketing and even Entrepreneurship. With such an extensive range there’s a programme to fit all requirements. LUMS’reputation doesn’t come easily. Its facilities, programmes, students and staff are independently audited by a wide range of organisations including The Times, The Guardian and The Good University Guide and LUMS scores consistently highly.

A Management Degree usually consists of a 3-year full-time or 4-year (3 full-time + 1 year in industry) programme. A year in industry is usually advantageous to those looking for work straight after their degree and provides you with an opportunity to practice what you have learned during your programme.

For those looking to develop their skills further either directly after graduation or between employment and even while employed, you may be interested in an MSc Management. Gaining an MSc is extremely rewarding and there are a wide variety of programme options available. MSc qualifications can be gained in just 12-months on a full-time taught programme.

If you wish to continue working while studying for an MSc there are also a range of part-time programmes available, this is often a great way to learn and apply learning at the same time, you also have the opportunity to work on real issues within your organisation.

If you’re an experienced manager an MBA might be more appropriate for your personal development. The Executive MBA (EMBA) provides you with the opportunity to study for an MBA while still working within your organisation.

The EMBA programmes takes place over 2-years on a part-time basis and is very hands on using Lancaster’s Action-Oriented approach. The EMBA is focused on your development as a leader and will develop your skills to enable you to manage and lead in complex organisational situations.

An MBA expands your ability to process information from discipline-based subjects across a multi-faceted range of skills - the dissemination of information through functional knowledge and situational learning ensures you get to see multiple perspectives and develop your thinking skills as well as your management and leadership.

An MBA provides you with one final tool, one that will last you for a lifetime. The ability to take a critical approach to designing and researching using management theory and practice. Using these tools you will enhance your understanding through evaluation and reflection and this will enable you to enhance your development throughout the rest of your career.
