Throughout the wedding planning period, a bride makes a number of decisions. Choosing a wedding gown is one of the toughest and the most emotional decision to make. With hundreds of designers and thousands of gowns to choose from, you may find yourself getting frustrated and feeling defeated as you try on gown after gown. Even when you feel like you have found “the one,” you may still feel uneasy and be tempted to continue looking. It is every brides dream to make the big day a success. You will want to get everything right but remember, perfection takes a lot of time. Make sure to give yourself ample time to work out the details. You can never be too organized so keep a master calendar that includes everything to be done before the big day. Wedding gowns and brides’ maid dresses come in different fashions and styles such as length knee, off the shoulder, V-neck, sleeveless, floor length, tea length and many more. Choose a dress that flatters every part of the body. Ensure there is no part of the dress that looks bad at the waist, chest or hips. Always stay within the budget. You may feel like you have found the dress of your dreams, but the price tag may be more of a nightmare. If a dress is only a few hundred dollars more expensive than you intended to spend, it can be negotiable, but if the gown is nearly double what you budgeted for, go for cheap wedding gowns. While you want to look your best on your big day, it is not worth starting out your marriage in debt because you over spent on your gown. Choose dresses that leave a lasting impression. Bear in mind that off the rack stuff doesn’t look perfect on everyone. Tailored dresses are the best because they suit shapes hence making you to look perfect and smart. However, ensure they are professionally measured and fitted. Choose wearable fabrics. Easily wrinkled and itchy fabrics should be avoided. After the wedding is offer, pictures are the only thing that truly remains forever to commemorate your day. Choosing a dress that is too trendy can result in photos you will regret and leave you asking what you were thinking. Imagine how you will feel looking back at your wedding photos decades later. If you know it is a dress you will never regret and will be proud of forever, it is probably the dress for you. With different manufacturers having different lead times, you will also want to leave enough time for alterations if required. Allow at least 3 weeks prior to the wedding. Leave enough time for a second and possibly third fitting in case the dress still does not fit quite right. Many bridesmaids wait until less minute before the wedding to pick up their dress only to find out it doesn't fit well and there’s not enough time to have it altered or sent back.
